Background (English)

Most of the rest of the material in this Visible Learning section will probably be in Swedish.

"Visible Learning" is used to denote material based on John Hattie's conclusions from his extensive and acclaimed meta studies on statistical correlations between students' achievements and various factors that could affect these achievements, as presented in a variety of research publications. "Visible Learningplus" is a trademark registered by The Trustees of Cognition Education Trust. Auckland, NZ. This foundation owns the company Cognition Education, which in cooperation with Hattie offers different services and material  for school improvement based on Hattie's research.

Hattie has presented the results of the meta-studies, and how he thinks these should be used in the books:
Visible Learning - a synthesis of over 800 meta-analyses related to achievements. 2009.

Visible Learning for Teachers. 2012.
Visible Learning and the Science of How We Learn. 2013. (with Greg Yates).

James Nottingham has through his company Challenging Learning the exclusive right, in Scandinavia, to use Cognition Education's material Visible Learningplus.

The purpose of these pages at this site Thinking Schools Network, is to provide a channel for discussion and exchange of experience, both about using what is described in the books in general, and from hiring Challenging Learning for  Visible Learningplus efforts.
